SUMMARY:
Bart Allen is
powerless, robbed of his super-speed powers and facing an impossible
showdown. Before him stands Inertia, his deranged evil twin, and seven
vengeful Rogues—Captain
Cold, Heat Wave, the Weather Wizard, the Mirror Master, the Pied
Piper, the Trickster, and Abra Kadabra. Behind the young scarlet speedster looms the
Black Flash, a grim specter who signals death for speedsters. The
predestined tragedy prophesied by Iris Allen has been set in motion!
Valerie Perez races to deactivate the futuristic device that has
captured the speed force before it can explode and destroy the west
coast. To avert this cataclysm and save millions of lives, the Flash
must buy her time. The Rogues are furious, however. Crippled but determined, the Flash
faces the supervillains in a brutal battle. The speed force is released just
as a beaten Bart Allen falls before his enemies. Once more, a Flash
dies a hero.
