QUOTE: "Two hundred eighty miles from Hollywood to Vegas. Four and a half hours by car, fifty minutes by air. But when you get a call from the girl you thought had kicked you to the curb, seconds count. I make the trip faster than dice across a craps table. That's why they call me the Flash." óBart Allen

SUMMARY: In Las Vegas, the Flash finds himself facing a diabolical deathtrap set-up by his evil clone, Inertia! After disarming an explosive attached to a kidnapped Valerie Perez, the fastest man alive must prove his speed by outracing the lethal blast of a photon canon. With the photon canon destroyed and both Bart and Valerie out of danger, Inertia escapes to the future once more. Meanwhile, in the Nevada desert, the energy being Mota is reconstituting himself. Continuing the quest for his daughter, Mota follows electrical lines into Las Vegas. The villain seemingly wants only to apologize for the hurt he has caused now that his schemes have ended in failure, but Bart doesn't hesitate to pursue the transformed madman in an effort to capture and contain him. Later, Bart tells Jay and Joan Garrick that he has decided he wants to help people even when he's not in costume and, as a result, that he's chosen a new path for himself. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Bart Allen applies to the Los Angeles Police Academy.
