SUMMARY: Gorilla Grodd has escaped from Iron Heights
Penitentiary, breaking Hunter Zolomon's back in the process. Enraged by
this attack and desperate to recapture his animalistic nemesis, the
Flash races to Gorilla City, Africa. He finds that the hidden jungle
metropolis of intelligent apes is now under the leadership of Nnamdi,
son of the great Solovar. A pacifist who fears the violent ways of
humankind, Nnamdi can sense the Flash's thirst for revenge and refuses
to aid him. When Grodd attempts to overtake the city, the fastest man
alive seemingly fulfills Nnamdi's fears as he attacks his enemy without
restraint. The Flash unleashes a brutal lightning-fast onslaught, and
Grodd responds with wave after wave of telepathic torment. When the
Flash finally fells the bloodthirsty beast, Nnamdi intervenes. Using his
own finely honed telepathic powers, the gorilla leader erases the
location of Gorilla City from Wally West's mind. The scarlet speedster
wakes to find himself in Keystone City. Making his way to St. Edward's
Hospital, Wally visits with a traumatized Hunter Zolomon, who is
struggling to make sense of the assault that has left him paralyzed.
