SUMMARY:
The Cobalt Blue prophecy has been fulfilled. Barry Allen is dead at
the hands of his evil twin, Malcolm Thawne, and history has been
drastically altered as a result. The Flash finds himself in the
anti-matter universe, the only survivor of his universe, relentlessly
pursued by the all-powerful Anti-Monitor. The Crisis on Infinite Earths
has passed and, without a Barry Allen to make his historic sacrifice,
Earth's greatest heroes have failed and fallen. Knowing he shares the
guilt for this unimaginable apocalypse, Wally West races into the
timestream in a desperate bid to alter history once more. The fastest
man alive must relive the painful, devastating, monumentally
consequential battles of the Crisis! In the recent past, he joins ranks
with countless superheroes — including his own past self — in an effort
to destroy the Anti-Monitor before he can seize victory. Traveling still
further into the past, Wally then attempts to take Barry Allen's place
in destroying the anti-matter cannon that will destroy Earth. All of
these efforts end in failure and, again and again, Wally faces the end
of life as he knows it. The key to restoring history, Wally soon
realizes, lies in both the powers and the spirit of his revered
forerunner. The Flash will have to travel through time and defeat
the obsessed Cobalt Blue himself to set things right, and Wally is well
aware that he may have to sacrifice his own life to save both the
universe and Barry Allen.
