SUMMARY:
In the 30th century, the Flash finds himself battling Professor Zoom for
possession of the powerful and dangerous Cobalt Blue gem. Thawne craves
possession of the gem that's been passed through his family line for
generations, but after a struggle Wally defeats him, shatters the stone,
and soon rejoins the speedster rescue effort that spans a thousand years
and encompasses countless generations of Flashes. Iris West Wally's
future daughter, who must endeavor to keep her existence a secret from
her father lest she corrupt the timeline has been distributing
fragments of the Cobalt Blue gem to Flashes throughout history as those
fragments will allow them to track and defeat their corresponding
nemeses. As she, Impulse, and XS move to the 30th century to look in on
the doomed Barry Allen, however, they find themselves consumed by
violent thoughts. The Flash arrives in time to realize that the Cobalt
Blue fragments are imbuing an unexpected influence. The Cobalt Blue
prophecy declares that not one but two Flashes will be consumed by the
gem's power. Soon, the fastest man alive is being brutalized by an army
of zombie speedsters commanded by the second hero to fall: Jay Garrick,
now possessed by the evil Malcolm Thawne himself! Only one man can save
the scarlet speedster now, the legendary hero Wally West was so desperate to save
from the Cobalt Blue curse.
