SUMMARY: Whilst looking over a scrapbook kept by Iris
Allen, Wally West continues to reflect on his remarkable origin as a
superhero. Like Barry Allen before him, Wally was doused with
electrified chemicals after being struck by a freak bolt of lightning.
The accident, representing an astonishing coincidence, seemed nothing
less than an act of fate. After testing the boy with a game of catch in
a nearby park, the Flash confirmed that Wally West's wildest dreams had
come true. He was now the fastest kid alive, possessing all the powers
of his superhero idol! The young speedster's introduction to crime
fighting occurred just as swiftly when he and the Flash tangled with a
familiar gang of Central City robbers. Seeing Wally's powers at work,
and knowing that the enthusiastic youngster would require both support
and guidance, the Flash decided to take the boy on as his sidekick.
Donning a version of his mentor's costume, Wally West became Kid Flash!
