SUMMARY: At Central City Airport, after speedily disposing
of a terrorist bomb, Wally West unexpectedly bumps into his
grandfather, Professor Ira West, and accepts an invitation to follow him
home for lunch. There, at his grandfather's home, he spends time
searching through a collection of scrapbooks and photo albums
chronicling the family history. At the bottom of a storage box Wally
discovers a special album emblazoned with a lightning bolt that was
prepared specifically for him. The photos contained therein prompt a
flood of memories. Wally recalls that he spent the fateful summer that he
turned ten-years-old with his beloved aunt, Iris. During his first day
visiting Central City he happened to witness his hero, the Flash, in
action! What's more, his quick thinking helped the fastest man alive to
foil an attempted robbery. This excitement was but a prelude to the
adventures to come. After being introduced to slowpoke police scientist
Barry Allen, an astonished Wally found himself face-to-face with the
scarlet speedster for a personal meeting in Allen's police laboratory.
The Flash told his young fan of the thrilling origin of his superpowers.
Just as he finished explaining the unlikelihood of the accident that
blessed him with superspeed, however, a nearby window exploded as
lightning struck Wally West!
