SUMMARY: Wally West finds himself in hot water with Connie
Noleski after a tabloid newspaper prints a sensational article claiming
the fastest man alive is having a secret affair with Powergirl. The
young hero denies the allegations but his girlfriend is nevertheless
furious. As the Chunk attempts to comfort Connie he comes to realize
that the true source of her recent anguish is the dawning realization
that she's no longer in love with Wally. Meanwhile,
Leonora MacDonald, a woman who has been spending much time with Mason Trollbridge, is receiving
threatening letters signed by a mysterious supervillain calling himself
the Last Resort. Wally and Mason visit the MacDonald mansion to offer
some needed protection. An outraged Powergirl tracks the Flash there and
confronts him, blaming the scarlet speedster for this unwanted
publicity. Unfortunately, even two superheroes aren't able to apprehend
the invisible Last Resort when he chooses to strike!
