SUMMARY: When Wally West learns that Lady Flash and the
Kapitalist Kouriers are under attack, he races to their aid and finds
the speedsters falling at the hands of a fleet-footed god! Hermes has
come to Keystone City. The Greek god taunts the impulsive fastest mortal
alive into attacking him, and Wally soon learns why. With a touch of his
fingers, Hermes absorbs the Flash's remarkable energies and adds them to
his own. After recovering from this unexpected ambush, the Flash follows
the god and discovers the purpose behind his unexpected actions. Hermes
is locked in battle with Mercury, his Roman counterpart, and requires
all the speed he can absorb to triumph in his struggle. Thanks to the
intervention of the Flash, Mercury is soon vanquished. Hermes then
explains that an epic struggle between pantheons is unfolding here on
Earth. With Wonder Woman, Troia, and all of mankind threatened, the
Flash vows to do his part to bring an end to this War of the Gods and
joins the conflict alongside his fellow superheroes.
