SUMMARY: The reincarnated Immortal Man—now in the form of a
schoolgirl named Steffi—is searching for her eternal nemesis, Vandal
Savage. Injected with the super-speed drug Velocity 9, however, the once
immortal Savage is now aging rapidly and may be dying. Because of this,
he has been spitefully plotting to wipe out the world's lucrative drug
trade by flooding the market, reducing the profitability of illegal
drugs, and killing the world's addicts and dealers alike. Furthermore,
Savage has one ultimate goal to accomplish before his death. After
spending decades battling with Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West, he
desperately wants to kill the Flash! Savage reveals that he is the drug
kingpin behind Mary West's abduction, and that he has likewise kidnapped
all of the Flash's closest friends in order to ensure his cooperation.
Wally is then lured into the Egyptian desert, where Savage has laid a
deadly trap. With his speed powers drained from him, the Flash is
powerless to escape a sudden and unexpected gunshot. With a single
bullet, Vandal Savage has killed the fastest man alive!
