SUMMARY: Though Alvin Desmond has been seemingly killed and
Albert Desmond has gone missing, someone in the guise of Dr. Alchemy is
striking throughout Keystone City. With some help from Linda Park and
the spirit of Seamus O'Relkig, the Flash is able to track the villain
and forces him into a showdown. Alchemy soon traps the scarlet speedster
in air that has been transmuted into stone, but help arrives in the form
of a former foe. Albert Desmond has adopted the identity of Mr. Element
once more, and he's prepared to do whatever it takes to stop Dr. Alchemy
and the Philosopher's Stone. The two opposing alter-egos clash with
equal powers. The Flash is the first to realize that this reconstructed
Dr. Alchemy—Alvin Desmond reborn—isn't simply wielding the deadly
Philosopher's Stone, he is the Philosopher's Stone! Albert Desmond's
psychic link to the magical weapon may be the only means of stopping it.
